About the NFO breed
Norwegian Forest Cat is a breed that originated in Northern Europe. The name comes from the norwegian term skogkatt. Norwegian Forest Cats were first accepted by FIFe to their shows in 1977.
These cats have thick, double-layered coat which makes them well suited to cold conditions. Despite their savage looks, the Norwegian Forest Cats are very patient and playful. They are perfect as family pets. Norwegian Forest Cats come in all sorts of colors the only exceptions being chocolate, lilac and color-point (specific to siamese cats).
